There are lots of changes in store for us as we head into the New Year and New Decade. While the new bodywork for the CFR Catfish has been made, it’s finally time to officially stop production of the Catfish. The car was always meant to be a “bucket list” project, with only two or three examples made. However, we made a few good friends over the course of the 20-odd cars that have been sold, and have probably discouraged a higher number than that to not buy the car, simply because it wasn’t a perfect fit for them or we couldn’t spend the time needed with them on their potential builds.
However, we still have all the molds, drawings, CAD files and shelves of supporting parts. We’ve talked to one or two companies who are interested in continuing the Catfish production. So while we can say that our production has ended for the Catfish, we can’t say that none will ever be built again.
Thanks to everyone who have followed our builds. Your enthusiasm has kept this car alive, and I truly thank my customers for taking this journey with me.
Happy New Year!

Sorry to see that you are no longer producing this car. It was a beautiful vehicle, a great achievement (very few people manage what you have done) and looked like a blast to drive.
I sincerely hope that you get back into this business or find someone to take it over, as it is a wonderful piece of kit (as we say in the UK) and a refreshing change from the lotus 7 clones (which are fantastic in their own right).
Well darn it I am getting ready to pull the trigger on a Catfish now that I sold my Factory Five car.
If someone picks up and continues production I am interested.

Manufacturing WILL continue! I’ve got a meeting with the new manufacturer of the Catfish in a week in order to see what improvements can be made.
Thank you Cord,
Looking forward to getting an update.
Molds and all have been shipped to Fran Hall at Race Car Replicas in Michigan. They can do things with the car that I can only imagine.
I’m hoping they go all out and make a monocoque frame…
Who’s the new manufacturer??
Race Car Replicas, who made 28 cars for the awesome Ford vs. Ferrari movie. Development is happening now.
So are you guys back and making Catfishes again?
Production of the Catfish is being taken over by Race Car Replicas. There will be a period where RCR will be changing and updating the car to their specifications. Who knows, they may even make it available as a “roller” as they have with other cars.

Any updates on Catfish Production?
I have emailed Race Car Replies a few times but haven’t heard a word, anyone been in contact with them?
