The 8 speed paddle shift I’m aware of is JAYCO friction roller. If so: I researched these a bit when I had trouble with mine. Mechanically pretty good (eg last 160000-190000 km) for 270-300bhp. I guess your v8 roadsters gys are aware of the ECU fragility. At least you (in USA) will have supply of the gaskets and spare stepper motors that we struggle for in Australasia.
